K-12 Education is not rocket science...just the precursor ;) !
In all seriousness - the problem with education is that we are dumbing down the curriculum- which results in a less educated populace.
Why are we dumbing it down? Simply (and using a broad brush stroke) we are no longer allowed to discipline students. Now, I don’t mean use the ole paddle-with-holes to physically punish them. WHAT I MEAN IS teachers should be allowed to “throw out” students who act in contrast to supporting the good order and discipline of the classroom.
Yes, even if the student has a diagnosed disorder that explains why they are disruptive - they must be separated from non disruptive students.
All students deserve an education!
When we eliminate the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity agenda - (D.I.E.) - we can begin to bring achievement levels on par with 25+ years ago (regardless of race or gender). Since incorporating those D.I.E. policies, students tested on the same (25 year old) end of course academic knowledge tests performed at an average failing level.
...in summary, we’re raising our kids to be significantly dumber than us. TIME TO GET OFF OUR @SSES AND DEMAND -MEANINGFUL- CHANGE. I.e., no more D.I.E. in school or society writ large! Challenge kids! It’s okay if they fail, because they will grow when they learn to pick themselves up.
